Jazz Up the Holidays!
Get in the holiday spirit early this year with a musical spectacular from renowned entertainer Charity Goodin. Presented by Marin Onstage, only three shows will be performed at the Belrose Theatre at 1415 Fifth Ave. in San Rafael. The hometown performing arts center will be decked out in its finest holiday décor.
Goodin has been entertaining audiences worldwide with her blend of musical genres, which include rock, Gospel, jazz, rhythm ‘n’ blues and more. Her band will include:Brad McKeague, drums; Robert Fondyce, bass; Doug Morton, piano; Jean-MichelHure, guitar, and K.C. Filson, piano. They will perform songs such as Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Santa’s Coming to Town — all with a jazzy twist.
Goodin has headlined the Belize International Jazz Festival and performed with several original Latin jazz groups.
According to Marin OnStage president, Gary Gonser of Novato, “the show evokes a magica lenergy that brings the audience into the world of song with energy and a sparkling set of holiday jazz arrangements.”
Shows will be on Friday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 6, with a matinee at 2 p.m. and an encore performance at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25, with seniors at $22; students $18 and children at $10. Marin Onstage will be collecting non-perishable canned goods for the Marin Food Bank.
